ZIGONG, China — Shilong Lantern Art (Zigong ShiLong Colorful Lantern Culture and Art Co., Ltd.) designed, fabricated and installed the lantern recognized by The Malaysia Book of Records as a National Record for the “Tallest God of Fortune Lantern” — awarded on 14 February 2026 at a Lunar New Year festival in Perak, Malaysia.
The record-setting centerpiece anchored a charity Lunar New Year lantern display in Kampar, Perak. The full installation comprised nine large lantern groups across roughly 3,500 m², produced in Shilong’s Zigong workshop, shipped to Malaysia and assembled on site ahead of the New Year celebrations. The Malaysia Book of Records is the national record authority of Malaysia. The certificate recognizes the host temple association in Kampar, Perak as the record holder, for a monumental God of Fortune (Cai Shen) lantern designed and built by Shilong Lantern Art.
“A record-setting piece is the result of getting hundreds of small details right — structure, fabric, color, lighting and on-site installation — and doing it on the other side of the world, on schedule,” a company spokesperson said.
